Rotron® ‘MD 101' Magnetic-Drive Regenerative Blowers
Can Boost Natural Gas in Furnaces for Manufacturing
Rotron® "MD 101" magnetic-drive regenerative blowers are designed to boost natural gas in furnaces for manufacturing operations. They employ regenerative air technology to develop proper air pressures and vacuums for the boost function without the higher energy and maintenance costs associated with larger multi-stage or positive air-displacement blowers and compressors.
These hermetically designed seal-less blowers have been engineered for continuous operation and extended service life. Blowers are clean, oil-free, and quiet (within OSHA standards). They can achieve maximum flows up to 29 SCFM; pressures up to 25 IWG; and vacuums up to 23 IWG. Voltage is 115 VAC with 24 VDC option.
Standard motors are 0.25HP TEFC or XP with the capability for users to upgrade horsepower and/or optimize motors for chemical duty, high efficiency, inverter duty, or industry-specific designs.
Rugged cast aluminum housing, impeller, and flanges contribute to blower durability. All models can be customized with a wide range of options and accessories to satisfy particular application requirements.
Blower options include corrosion-resistant surface treatments and slip-on or face flanges, among others. Available accessories range from flowmeters (reading in SCFM), filters, and moisture separators to pressure and vacuum gauges, relief valves, specialized switches (air flow, pressure, vacuum, or temperature) and a variable frequency drive package.

Compact Versions of Windjammer® Brushless DC Blowers
Offer Low-Voltage Solutions for Medical and Commercial End-Uses
Compact versions of Windjammer® brushless DC blowers can deliver high performance for low-voltage applications requiring reliable and extended blower life. Typical end-uses include medical devices (airbeds, laser therapy cooling, and lab equipment), high-volume copiers, high-end digital printers, and fuel cells, among others.
All blowers in this family are designed with diameters of 5.0" (127mm) and an overall total length of 3.0" (76mm) to fit small design envelopes. Their brushless DC motor technology promotes virtually maintenance-free operation over a long service lifetime.
These 12/24VDC blowers can achieve output pressure up to 25 inches H2O and flow rates up to 45 CFM, depending on model. The blower's maximum power requirement is 155 Watts, depending both on model and the application's load-point.
The motor's commutation drive electronics can be specified as either internal to the blower package or external as a separate module. When configured for an external drive, the blower allows for the required connection to a 3 phase, brushless DC electronics control module that can be remotely located. In addition, other options are available to allow for customization to meet particular application requirements.
The blower's motor speed can be controlled by receiving a customer-supplied command input (PWM or analog DC voltage signal) or by manual adjustment via the drive electronics' onboard potentiometer.

Adjustable Pitch Aluminum Prop (AL Prop) Patent Approved
Piqua, OH - June 1, 2009 - Hartzell Fan, a leading manufacturer of industrial air moving equipment, received notice from the United States Patent Office that Patent Application #7,494,325 on the Adjustable Pitch Aluminum Prop (AL Prop) has been approved. This patent is based on the shape, arrangement, and location of the ribs that go the length of the blades and how they reduce the sound generated in the lower octave bands.
The AL Prop is constructed of cast aluminum material (blades and hub) and is used in multiple products that include roof ventilators, panel fans, and duct axial fans. The AL adjustable prop is well suited for industrial air moving applications requiring high flow and low to medium pressure and is available in multiple blade configurations to allow precise selection by adjusting the blade angle. Some low speed selections are available for installations where low sound levels must be maintained. Sound levels may be decreased by as much as 5 to 10 dBA for lower speed operation.

Rotron® SE Minispiral™ Regenerative Blowers Provide Quiet Solutions
for Office Equipment and Applications with Small Design Envelopes
Rotron® SE Minispiral™ regenerative blowers provide low-noise solutions for developing ideal air pressures and vacuums in office equipment and other applications characterized by extremely small design envelopes. These instrument-grade blowers perform quietly (to NC-47 office equipment specifications), feature lightweight construction at 1.9 lbs. (0.86kg), and can fit in the palm of a hand at 4.18" diameter x 1.83" (106.2mm x 46.5mm).
Their regenerative air technology generates pressures or vacuums using a spinning, non-contacting, oil-free impeller. Blower design and simple operation contribute to cleaner, safer, more reliable, and virtually maintenance-free pneumatics.
These blowers can be specified in three DC versions offering maximum flow variability and in AC versions available in voltages ranging from 24AC to 230AC, depending on model. Nautilair® 8.9" (225mm) variable speed pre-mix brushless blowers for gas-fired burner systems deliver a measured air/fuel mixture to optimize combustion and reduce nitrous oxide and carbon monoxide emissions. Their brushless DC motor technology enables virtually maintenance-free performance typically exceeding 20,000 hours in a wide range of applications, including commercial and residential boilers, water heaters, furnaces, foodservice equipment, kilns, and fuel cells, among others.
They can serve as ideal alternatives to conventional fixed speed or two-speed blowers, intake damper systems on fixed speed blowers, or inverter-driven variable speed blowers. When used with a modulating gas valve, these compact, lightweight, rugged, versatile, and high-efficiency solutions can satisfy a wide range of system designs.

Their explosion-proof motors are UL and CSA approved for Class 1, Group D and F&G atmospheres to promote optimized and safe operation in the most challenging and harshest environments.

Windjammer® Variable-Speed Brushless Blowers Offer Compact Solutions for Medical and Industrial Applications
Windjammer® variable-speed, brushless DC blowers offer compact, low noise, and long life solutions ideally suited for medical and industrial applications. The extensive standard product line includes low voltage and high voltage versions, as well as bypass and thru-flow products to satisfy the widest range of blower application requirements.
Low voltage Windjammer blowers provide output pressure up to 98 in. H2O and flows up to 160 CFM. Output pressure for high voltage blowers can be realized up to 169 in. H2O and flows up to 274 CFM, depending on model.
All Windjammer brushless blowers feature compact design with diameters of 5.7 in. (145mm). Their engineering promotes long life and virtually maintenance-free operation.
